  1. playersArray.shift(); // first element deleted
  2. playersArray = playersArray.slice(1); // first element deleted
  3. playersArray.splice(0, 1); // first element deleted
  4. playersArray.pop(); // last element deleted
  5. playersArray = playersArray.slice(0, a.length – 1); // last element deleted
  6. playersArray.length = playersArray.length – 1; // last element deleted

Example : 1

var y = [6, 9, 9, 5, 9]
var playerId = 9;

y = jQuery.grep(y, function(value) {
  return value != playerId;
});

Result

[6, 5]
